Here is some yarn that hasn't been washed yet. It is from a crossbred Icelandic/CVM wethered ram we used to have on our farm, and I have spun it in the grease. I expect it to 'full' when I wash it and it should also be quite soft. 

Angora Bunny that is Grey carded with purple thrums being spun on my Schacht Wheel...I just got my Schacht back from Colorado from an overhaul...It spins just great now!

We had a major hail storm two days ago! It got really windy, then started to rain, then came the hail...tons of it...and rolling thunder it went on for more than an hour...the newspapers said 4 inches of rain, but they weren't in our neck of the woods! It was pretty amazing and very very loud!! 

I almost forgot obout PJ didn't I??? He is our Llama boy...he lives with the mares and I'm sure he's forgotten he's a llama because he doesn't speak camelid anymore...when the weather gets better I will introduce him to the new alpaca clan...but only over the fence...they need to be neighbors first! 

Here is a picture of Brownie, Trigger, MiMi (the cat) and Ike...We currently have 6 alpacas along with the mares, 15 chickens, the cows, and a Jack Russell Terrier...quite a farm. During the winter months the Canada Geese stop by to rest on our ponds and many other wild ducks...such as buffle head, wood ducks and mallards also make the stop. We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place!!

I am currently spinning some straight bunny fur from a crossbred french/angora rabbit doeling named "Je t'aime". She is owned by a friend of mine and is a beautiful hybrid rabbit. I have all of her first shearing and it's soft and quite long...very easy to spin...I have a Patrick Green Super Card and I have run this 'fleece' through the carder with only one pass and have gotten a batt that is very easy to spin from...although I must say bunny fur sticks to everything! I am really enjoying it and have some beigey white colored angora from a rabbit named Pontouf that I will start on next. My favorite spinning wheel, my schacht is currently out of commission and I will be sending it to Schacht Spindle company for repairs, but I am able to use my second favorite wheel, my Ashford Joy to spin this Angora fleece... 

crochet hat 

Here is a crochet hat I just finished...It is made with two different singles. One is handspun pygora from one of my last does that I sold a few years ago, and the other is from a white Angora rabbit. The black part is a flashly commercial yarn called Alpine Meadow Yarn, "Starry Starry Night" The hat has been washed once and it's a bit fulled...(kind of fuzzy)...it will need to be worn, washed again then it will full a big more and really look fuzzy and cute! 

Here are a few sparrows at our feeder...the feeder was tipping to the side as the snow was building up along the roof unevenly, but the birds didn't care...they still came in to feed on the thistle and seed. 

Our house of Ice...this is a picture of our house after the first snowstorm...We have since had 8 inches and at one point lost our power for a few days...luckily we have a generator that powers the well and a few lights and power outlets, so we were just fine. We also have a zero clearance fireplace that heats most of the house...it was fun! It has stayed so cold that we still have all the snow on the ground...it usually snows then melts right away, so this has really been a winter here in Oregon!

Here is a picture of the pond this morning...no Canada Geese...they probably got started early! It looks like the sun will come out soon and make everything quite bright! 

Well if finally started to snow and is sticking here in Southern Oregon. Here is a picture of the front of the house from the forest. I tried to get a picture of the Canada Geese on the pond, but the flash wouldn't project out far enough on to the pond...I will have to go for an early morning walk and hopefully it will stay cold and keep snowing...nothing better than some snow here!!!!
