Mount Ashland Posted by Picasa

Here is another photo of Keene Creek...Up above this creek there are two magnificent Log homes. Smoke was curling out of the wood stove pipe of one of them. It looked like a scene right out of a movie...very romantic. Posted by Picasa

This is up towards the top of Hwy 66 about 15 miles in...there was lots of beautiful snow! Posted by Picasa

Here is a picture of the lake at Keene Creek. There were ducks and Canada Geese lower down on the pond. Posted by Picasa

Was working in my office and looked outside to see a Pileated Woodpecker working on a fir tree...I figured by the time I got out there with the camera he'd fly away...but he basically ignored me...he must have found some really tasty insects in those trees...it was very foggy out in the forest, but I got a good shot. Posted by Picasa

working on more hats...knit one for one of the nephews...his was not rolled brim...but more boyish...then his sister decided she might want one...the middle purple one is for her...it is handspun with a commercial strand of black mohair running through it...it's lovely!  Posted by Picasa

well I did several more of those hats then decided I'd try the socks again...so...I'm knitting on size 2 needles...which seem awfully little for me...with a cast on of 64, which seemed like a lot of stitches for me too...so this will be my 4th pair of socks, and the hardest pair so far...wish me luck...I'll post pix of them as I'm getting further along! this picture isn't too sharp...it's really more of browns and a darker green than this looks like. Posted by Picasa

I had to make one for myself too...well I've made several for myself...but I LOVE greens...so I knit this one up too...if you look closely you'll see that black mohair yarn in this one too...that mohair really has gone a long long way! Posted by Picasa

so...I decided to make a few more hats...my sis sent my daughter this beautiful vest for Christmas, so I found some matching yarn, plus some of my really beautiful handspun yarn that has some pygora goat fleece in it (white) and also carried the black mohair in this hat as well...my daughter looks so cute in it! Posted by Picasa

My sis sent me some yarn for Christmas and a really great easy hat 'recipe'...so this is the first rolled brim hat. It has a strand of black mohair in it too...as I wear it and wash it a few more times the mohair will 'bloom' and 'full' and make the hat look wispy...I like it! Posted by Picasa

Well here is the third pair of handknit sox...I got these done just in the 'nick' of time for Christmas for my girlfriend...hopefully there weren't too many dropped stitches...hah... Posted by Picasa

See here she is... Posted by Picasa

Here is my Kufa girl...she was full of it this morning as usual, kicking her feet up and running through the pastures. See the icey frost on her mane... Posted by Picasa

The pond is frozen, no ducks or geese on it this morning...just stillness...it was beautiful... Posted by Picasa

Wonderful icey cold morning...There was hoar frost on everything...it was quiet outside and I scared up two big male coyotes...I whistled and they stopped and looked at me...they were spooky looking! Posted by Picasa

Here is one more shot I took this morning. There is a beautiful forest behind our house. It's where the coyotes hide and sing to us from. You can see there is a slight dusting of snow that has penetrated down through the trees... Posted by Picasa

well here it is snowing...!!! it's november 28 2005. Isn't it just beautiful...the only thing missing are some sheep...oh well...got the wood stove going, and just took muffins out of the oven...it's a beautiful day!!!! guess I'll just go sit and knit and look out of the window!!!! Posted by Picasa
