Crater Lake Week Three

Week Three of my season at Crater Lake...I got the first views of the Pumice Desert of the year on a drive after work one day last week.  I got to work at the Kiosk at the North Entrance Station for a few days too...it's beautiful out there - with amazing views...then you hit Lodge Pole Pine forests with tons of mosquitoes...what can I say about those little buggers...I have bites all over me...and yes I used DEET! The bit me right through my pants!!!! yikes!

                                                 Doe and her fawn below....
So here's the thing....when you see a fawn all by itself, don't assume it's abandoned!!!!! The moms do need to go eat and drink to replenish themselves to feed those babies...sometimes it takes awhile before they come back....and they do come back!  Don't take it upon yourself to touch or move a young animal...leave it alone...Mother Nature works perfectly....it is all very harmonious if we tend to our own needs!!!  And if by chance things don't go according to what we humans think should happen, well other animals need to be fed...Life eats Life....It's a circle....
